Clued Up!

July 30, 2009

Browsing through XStreetSL, I found a game by Jez Ember called Clued Up! It is just like the original clue game, but with references to second life. The game is played in the governors mansion, but Governor Linden is found dead. Your job is to find out who, with what, and where the murder took place. Weapons found were Watermellon gun, orbiter, blunt prim, pose ball, bling ring, and asset server. Suspects visiting during office hours were Lavender, Peaches, Chalky, Sandy, Emerald, and Sapphire Linden. Rooms found in the mansion are a hot tub, games room, sandbox, office, dance club, telehub, dungeon, holodeck and skybox. Crap Mariner and I sat down for an interesting game. I won.

Clued Up! HUD

July 30, 2009

This time it’s my turn to suggest who, what, and where. The HUD shows a police line indicating that it’s my turn. You can also see the list of items on the notepad being scratched off through deduction.

Copy Objects Between Grids

July 30, 2009

I just created a video demonstrating a little project I have been working on to export my content from the Second Life main grid onto my OpenSIM server over on OS Grid.

This is not copy bot. There are not any software programs used. The process is done using a few LSL scripts. You need to own the objects with modify permissions in order for this to work.

Prims are rezzed on OpenSIM and linked up to form a single object. Textures, Scripts, and inventory do not transfer during the process. Some of the default client textures are already available, so they will show up as if they had transferred without a problem.

I’ll be posting more details about it later over on my OSGrid page: Import/Export Between Grids by Instant Blue.

Bridging the Gap

July 24, 2009

Crap Mariner and I were able to brainstorm a few ideas to connect Edloe to Woodbridge. We wanted boats to get through the water between the islands, but it would end up having us create a high bridge. We started to consider draw bridges until I came up with the crazy idea of rotating the bridge on it’s Z-axis instead. This gave way to allowing me to bring out the classic covered bridge. We soon found out that an object crossing regions is only solid on the region where it’s center is located. I ended up splitting the bridge in half, and then having the two sides communicate with each other when they were touched. Perfection! Now woodbridge has a new attraction adding to it’s unique culture.

AvatarFashion.net

July 13, 2009

Indigo Paperclip contacted me regarding a new website for avatar fashion promoting Acedia Albion’s clothing line. Indigo is one of the people who I met through the Mr O show that was hosted at the Acedia Super Deck in Bolinas. Indigo is usually at quite a few of Acedia Albion’s events as well where she does photo shoots, machinima and fashion. Tonight I got some hair along with the promo package for the new site asking to promote the new site. Aren’t I spiffy?

Bridge Construction

July 8, 2009

Crap Mariner and I are working on bridging our two islands together. We’ve been working on a few ideas so far. Since the community at large does a lot of sailing, the birdge needs to be up at a high area to permit boats to pass through. The other thing to work out is finding a proper space to set the bridge on each side, since a few residents are on the coast and may not want to have a bridge comming down into their beachfront.

A 7th anniversary

July 4, 2009

It’s official. My wife and I have been married for 7 years now to this date. The great thing about it is that everyone else celebrates with fireworks and bar-b-ques. Ok, they aren’t celebrating our anniversary, but it does make it all the more special and fun. Tonight I’m hanging out at tuna oddfellow’s OddBall for a special 4th of July party. His shows of visual effects sem to be improving all the time.
